D. Chris Alexander, D. Chris Alexander is an original owner who has over thirty years of experience in the cable television industry. This experience dates to 1969 when he began as an installer technician for an independent system. In 1972, Mr. Alexander began work as an Engineer/Supervisor of Construction for TCI of Madison, Wisconsin. In 1974, he was promoted to District Engineer for TCI. This position involved the supervision of all technical engineering and construction for TCI in a five state district. He left TCI and formed Mountain West Cable with Mr. Allan Sharp. Mr. Alexander performed management duties plus all engineering, design and construction for more than fifteen communities. Later, he and Mr. Sharp were involved with franchising, designing and operating another cable television business, B & L Cable Communication, Inc. with cable systems in Utah, Alabama and Florida. Mr. Alexander has been involved in the construction of several systems as well as performing consulting for Acton Cable TV and Insight Cable TV. Over the past eight years, he has completed extensive fiber projects and splicing work that include sweeping several thousand miles of cable television systems with all brands and types of electronics. Since the introduction of fiber technology in the cable television industry, Mr. Alexander has attended numerous highly rated fiber seminars. He is certified in the most current fiber technologic procedures. Mr. Alexander’s involvement in all aspects of the cable industry has enabled him to provide valuable insight and contributions to the company and its customers. |

Allan M. Sharp,
Mr. Sharp is an original owner who has over twenty-seven years of experience in the cable television industry. Originally, Mr. Sharp owned and operated Tel-Mart, Inc. He was involved in marketing and installing homes and MDU’s for cable television companies throughout the United States. Then, TCI Cablevision of Utah hired him as the manager for its Salt Lake City cable system. The Salt Lake City system included systems in Davis County, Ogden and Provo markets. While in this position, Mr. Sharp managed all system budgets, personnel and subscriber relations. Construction projects were ongoing and the mileage and subscriber numbers more than doubled during his tenure with TCI. Mr. Sharp possesses a broad business background having managed public relations and contractor concerns. He left TCI and assisted Chris Alexander and another partner in the formation of Mountain West Cable TV. This company built and operated cable TV systems that served over fifteen communities, primarily in central Utah. Later, he and Mr. Alexander were involved with and helped form and operate another cable television business, B&L Cable, This business operated cable systems in Utah, Alabama and Florida. Educated in business management and public relations at Utah State University, Mr. Sharp is currently involved with all phases of the operation of X-L Cable with Mr. Alexander. He is proud to be part of this dynamic company. |
